Hi there! I’m Lauren.

I'm a Houston-based communications professional with a journalism foundation and a deep appreciation for thoughtful, audience-driven storytelling. Over the past 10 years, I’ve developed content for web, email, social media, and print, shaping messages that inform, inspire, and align with brand goals. My experience spans higher education, nonprofit organizations, and digital publishing, giving me a strong sense of how to communicate across platforms, adapt voice and tone, and translate complex ideas into clear narratives.

I’m equally comfortable writing copy from scratch, refining stakeholder messaging, or collaborating with designers to bring a creative concept to life. My approach is grounded in curiosity, clarity, and strategy — whether I’m developing a campaign, editing a press release, or reworking a site’s navigation. I enjoy the challenge of finding the right words and structure to make information resonate, and I’m always looking for new ways to create work that’s both effective and human-centered.

Here’s what I can do.

    • I am a published reporter and photographer.

    • I’ve written copy for a wide variety of placements, including social media, email, websites, digital ads, publications, newsletters, presentation decks, and voice-over scripts.

    • I have experience creating and managing email marketing campaigns through Constant Contact and Mailchimp.

    • I have more than five years of experience with all aspects of building a brand's presence on social media — content creation, strategy, analytics, community management, crisis communications, paid advertising, branding, and more.

    • I have managed accounts on Instagram, Facebook, Threads, LinkedIn, Twitter/X, YouTube, and TikTok.

    • I am quite comfortable using social media management tools including Sprout Social and Meltwater.

    • I have two years of experience leading and mentoring a team of two social media interns who were primarily tasked with content creation.

    • I have advanced-to-expert levels of proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and Premiere Pro. I also have experience using After Effects, Audition, Bridge, Lightroom, Dreamweaver, and InCopy.

    • I’m especially passionate about typography and visual hierarchy, always striving to make sure my designs are as functional as they are aesthetically pleasing.

    • I have plenty of hands-on experience with photography and videography.

    • I have a basic knowledge of HTML and CSS for web design purposes. I'm no web developer, but I can certainly comb through lines of code to fix a broken page.

    • I'm comfortable using content management systems like Wordpress and Drupal. I've also worked with several custom CMSs developed for previous employers.

Education

I hold a journalism degree from the University of Texas at Austin with concentrations in photojournalism and copy editing. It may seem as though this background is irrelevant to my current field — I can assure you that the opposite is true! I’ve utilized these skills every day in my marketing career.

Years later, I recognized my need to upskill and completed a certificate in graphic design at San Jacinto College.

I believe my educational background provides me with a unique grasp on both written and visual communication.

Hobbies + Interests

  • I love animals — especially sharks! I have one cat and one dog.

  • I enjoy resin casting, sewing, baking, video games, and sculpting with polymer clay.

  • I’m obsessed with true crime documentaries and podcasts.

  • I love to travel. The number one destination on my bucket list is Japan. I often joke that I wish “good at airports” was a marketable skill because I would add it to my resume! I’m a very efficient and organized traveler.

Why “laurenlowewall.com”?

I’m getting married in October! I’ll be changing my legal name to Lauren Wall.

Fun fact: I’ve actually been involved in marketing since high school.

I would never add this to my resume after so many years, but I was an active DECA member for three years and competed in marketing events annually. During my senior year, I placed third in the state for retail merchandising and advanced to compete internationally.

Let’s work together.
