In April 2023, I revamped San Jacinto College’s social media campaign for Community College Month. My contributions included photography (employee portraits only), writing, design, and interviewing employees for direct quotes.
My new approach was to better reflect the college's values, engage both internal and external audiences, and combat negative community college stereotypes while highlighting the college's contributions to student success and community development.
Through a strategic mix of employee spotlights and themed content, the campaign aimed to spark conversation and highlight the institution's commitment to excellence.
The campaign's success surpassed expectations, with metrics exceeding all set objectives. Beyond quantitative metrics, the campaign fostered substantial dialogue, evidenced by positive feedback from participants and genuine interactions in the comments.
San Jacinto College won a 2024 Silver Excalibur Award from the Public Relations Society of America (Houston Chapter) for this campaign. The campaign was also a finalist for a 2024 Crystal Award from the American Marketing Association (Houston Chapter).
